ForkArt is a social art remix platform that allows users to view, upload, remix, and interact with creative works across multiple formats.

Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have when using the app.

By using ForkArt, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Account Access & Viewing the App

No account is required to browse and view the public gallery.

An account is required to upload content, use social features such as commenting, liking, or remixing, or to use payment features when they become available.

Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide

When you create an account or participate in social features, we may collect:

• Email address
• Username
• Profile information you choose to provide
• Creative content you upload

ForkArt supports uploading images, video, audio, written content, and documents. Any creative content you upload is transmitted off your device, stored on our servers, and — because ForkArt is a social and remix platform — may be visible to and remixed by other users in accordance with our Terms of Service.

B. User-Generated Content

Any content you upload may be visible to other users and may be remixed where the app's functionality permits. You are responsible for the content you choose to share.

C. Usage & Technical Data

We may automatically collect:

• Device type, operating system, and app version
• App interactions (screens viewed, features used)
• Crash reports and error logs
• Device identifiers used by our payment processor (Stripe) for fraud prevention and security

This data helps us improve stability, performance, and user experience, and helps protect against fraud.

Analytics

ForkArt uses Google Analytics to understand how users interact with the app. This information is collected in an aggregated and anonymized form and may include:

• App usage patterns
• General device information

Google Analytics operates under its own privacy policy.

Device Identifiers

ForkArt includes Stripe's software to support tipping and payout features. As part of its standard operation, Stripe may collect a device identifier from your device for fraud prevention and security purposes.

This identifier is transmitted off your device to Stripe, a third party, and is shared with Stripe in its role as our payment processor. Stripe's handling of this data is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The app may store limited information locally, including:

• Login tokens to keep you signed in
• App preferences and settings
• Temporarily cached images to improve performance

You can clear this data by uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

Data Stored on Our Servers

We may store:

• Account information (email, username)
• Creative content you upload, including images, video, audio, written works, and documents
• Social interactions (comments, likes, remix lineage)
• Technical logs used for debugging and maintenance

We do not sell your personal data.

How We Share Your Data

• We share content you upload with other users as part of ForkArt's core social and remix functionality.
• We share a device identifier and, when payment features are active, payment-related data with Stripe for payment processing, fraud prevention, and security.
• We share aggregated, anonymized usage data with Google Analytics to understand and improve app performance.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share your data with advertising partners.

Data Deletion & Retention

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings.

When an account is deleted:

• Account information and associated content are removed from active use
• Content may be temporarily retained for a limited period to allow for recovery, dispute resolution, or legal compliance

Any retained data is securely stored and permanently deleted within a reasonable timeframe, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and operate the app
• Enable social and creative features
• Process payments and prevent fraud (when payment features are active)

Payments & Monetization

ForkArt is preparing to offer tipping and artist payouts, processed through Stripe. These payment features are not yet active. When payment functionality launches, it will be processed by Stripe; ForkArt will not store or collect credit card or banking information, which is handled directly by Stripe.

Note that ForkArt includes Stripe's software to support these upcoming features. As described in the Device Identifiers section above, Stripe may already collect a device identifier for fraud prevention and security purposes. We will update this policy with full details of payment data handling when payment features become active.

When live, artist payouts will be processed via Stripe Connect, which requires creating or connecting a Stripe account. Stripe may collect additional information directly from you to verify your identity and process payouts, in accordance with its own policies.

Data Control & Your Rights

You have control over your data:

We aim to respond to data requests within 24–48 hours.

Depending on your location, you may also have additional rights under applicable privacy laws.

Children's Privacy

ForkArt is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or under 16 where required by law). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International Availability

ForkArt is available internationally. Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, depending on where our servers or service providers are located.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app means you accept the revised policy.
